The end of the year is not as far away as we would like to think. The end of the calendar year is the cut-off for the 2012 allotment of services and supplies for eligible DVA clients and HipSaver Hip Protectors are included on the eligible supplies list. Wait times for us to get to an agent to get approvals on the orders coming in are now in the area of 15 minutes – some days longer – and only three approvals can be given per phone call. As we approach December 31st the wait times will get longer and eventually prohibitive.
To ensure that your eligible clients get their approvals for 2012 allotments of HipSavers we’re asking that you fax or email your DVA order form in by December 15th.
We can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to obtain approvals for orders received after that time. We will certainly keep trying however it’s likely that some of those orders will not receive approval until after January 1, 2013.
DVA clients who are eligible are permitted two units of HipSaver Hip Protectors per calendar year. Veterans can, therefore, request two units before the end of 2012 and an additional two units after January 1, 2013.
