HipSaver Sizing

I am often asked how to choose the right HipSaver size for an individual who falls right on or close to the border between two sizes. It has been my experience that going to the size below provides the better fit unless there are extenuating circumstances such as the person carries a lot of weight out front, has an ostomy or absolutely cannot abide snug clothing. Going to the larger size tends to give the hip pads way too much room to move around and we really want them to be fairly stable in their position over the trochanter. Of course, at the end of the day, the therapist knows the body of the individual as well as their preferences and lifestyle so put all the information in a pot and make your best judgement call.
