Yes, really – zippers on DermaSaver tubes can be abundantly useful in several circumstances. Think about checking an IV site, fitting an arm or leg tube over a limb swollen at the ankle or hand/wrist or how about getting an elbow tube over a finger in a cast. The zipper does not – I repeat, does not – touch the skin. Tubes with zippers are constructed such that the zipper is suspended above the skin. Just make sure that when you put the tube in place, the zipper is not located where there will be downward pressure on it. A terrific option for patient care!
